9 May 2019 – Dennistoun Thistle 1 – 6 Drumbank Thistle– Drumoyne – KO 8pm

Last night was frustrating and disappointing for the team – suffering their worst defeat since our first game as a club.

As has become the norm we had 20 players for the squad last night and rather positively there are so many keen to be involved and play now that the squad is being rotated to accommodate giving everyone a run out.

Off the back of 2 wins the team were hoping to make it 3 wins in a row, but it wasn’t to be. Drumbank Thistle were an experienced side and that showed. Their level of tactics and communication on the pitch proved a bit too much for Dennistoun Thistle and the game became a little bit one sided.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom though at times Dennistoun showed some of the tempo and skills that had helped them win the previous two games and managed to score, which means that Dennistoun Thistle have yet to play a game and not score.

We managed to get all our subs on the park for some game time, but for those coming on in the second half it was a tough ask for them to change the game. Full time score was Dennistoun Thistle 1 – 6 Drumbank Thistle.

We’re looking to play lots more friendlies in the run up to the 2019/20 season beginning, so if you have a team that’s looking for a bit of competition then let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange something! (we’re keeping our pre-season schedule up to date on social media, so check and see if there’s a date that suits you.)

We’re also still looking for players, fans and sponsors too, so if you’d like to be involved in some way or find out more about the club then please get in touch by emailing dennistounthistle@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to talk.

Alternatively if you just want to keep up to date with us as the season goes on then why not follow us on FacebookTwitter or Instagram?!
