On Saturday 26 October Dennistoun Thistle held a fundraising lunch at our supporting Church – St Andrews East in Dennistoun. The event was held to hopefully raise a bit of money for the club, but more importantly to build a relationship with the church and get the team along to meet some of the congregation for the first time.
The cakes were baked, and the Cabin Cafe had very kindly provided the sandwiches and sausage rolls.
The event took place after our match against Tollcross, and despite the disappointing result the team came along.
It wasn’t the busiest of afternoons, but the small crowd that were there were extremely generous buying cakes, raffle tickets and taking part in some of the games that were going on.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our fundraiser this afternoon at our supporting church. Big thanks to Cabin Cafe for catering the savoury selection and to our volunteer bakers!
Your support is truly appreciated as any money we can raise helps us to keep the club afloat, ensure we are able to pay for pitch lets and training equipment and generally create a good environment for the team.
All remaining food was given to the church for tea after their Sunday Service and donated locally to the Bellgrove Hotel where we hope it was enjoyed on Saturday evening.
