Tuesday 10 December 2019 – Dennistoun Thistle 2 – 6 Bellgrove– Stepford – KO 8pm

We decided to fit in one more friendly before our semi-final on Saturday and Bellgrove kindly agreed to be our opposition. Having played them before in a friendly we were looking forward to a good game of football.

After 3 mins we were a goal ahead through a penalty taken by aldo and by 16 mins we were 2-0 up thanks to a goal from Jimmy. However that’s pretty much where most of our good play ended and for the next 70 mins we simply weren’t in the game.

Bellgrove looked the hungrier side and pushed forward on us and we let them. They scored their first at 25 mins and that opened the floodgates and during the rest of the game they scored another 5.

A good exercise for getting minutes in the legs, but far from our best performance both from a technical point of view and also the attitude displayed on the pitch. So it gives the manager a lot to think about before Saturday.

All credit to Bellgrove who played better and wanted it more than we did. Thanks to them for the friendly and congratulations on the win.

Now all our focus goes on to the semi-final on Saturday, where we’ll be hoping for a marked improvement in performance.

Full time score: Dennistoun Thistle 2 – 6 Bellgrove
